GOLDEN HIT PARADE

Another release from Readers Digest, this being by far the best as it covers a good selection of hits from the fifties to the early seventies, a greater emphasis being given to the sixties. And, for a change, the covers are better presented with some attention to capturing the right era per volume; hence the girl on volume 5 is flowery-powery, as befitting the music of the years 1966-67. But I quite like the volume 6 cover as it is in keeping with the risqué period of the time, with ample breast being shown. Pity the musical selections are less radical, bordering in fact on the predictable. At least they are all by the original artistes. See enlargement of box cover.
