| NOTES ON THE ABOVE | ||||
|
Country & Western has never been one of my favourite genres, ever since I was a kid and forced to listen to my uncle's Jim Reeves' albums. I will never forgive him for drowning me in boredom, and I guess that maybe the reasoning behind some of the covers presented her. Each one is an attempt to sex them up, to make them sound a lot more interesting, and obviously use a pretty girl on the cover, dress her up to look a bit cowboy-ish, and preferably take some scenic shots in the country. None of them particularly warrant my approval, although I must say that the bird on the Road Music cover could cause a few crashes if she carries on posing like that. And take a good look at the one on the sleeve next to her. Notice how the label is strategically placed over her crutch. Why? I do have somewhere in my collection a black and white photo of this cover advertising the record without the label, so why it was changed I do not know. Also, there are two versions of the Kings of Country LP; slightly different colours (which see). And again the same photo has been used for the Kings of Country volume 2 LP. The only one that really gets my approval has got to be Golden Country Hits. She looks incredibly sexy, and knows it. To view larger images use the Database |
